Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra
The Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra (GPO) is a highly regarded, fully professional regional orchestra located in Greeley, Colorado. Established in 1911, it holds the elite distinction of being one of the few professional orchestras in the United States to have remained in continuous operation for over a century and thought to be the oldest continuously operating orchestra west of the Mississippi River.
The GPO draws talented musicians from across Colorado and Southern Wyoming, featuring a lineup where over 70% of the performers hold a master's degree or higher in music.
This professional group offers a large number of performances per year, playing a wide variety of music from classical to religious to popular and features up to 75 top flight musicians, often with highly sought after guests artists. The orchestra leadership was also a powerful force behind the creation of the Union Colony Civic Center, Greeley, Colorado’s premier performing arts center.
