Bob Tointon

Robert "Bob" G. Tointon (1933-2025) was a highly influential business executive, civic leader, and philanthropist, who left an indelible mark on the community of Greeley, Colorado.

Bob Tointon along with his wife Betty and the Tointon Foundation have been a major philanthropist in the Greeley area for many years. The Tointon Art Gallery int he Union Colony Civic Center is one of many ways in which Bob turned his love of the arts into support for Greeley arts and artists.

Named 2019 “Citizen of the West” by the National Western Stock Show, Tointon is a much respected business leader and rancher, in addition to his philanthropic endeavors. He played an important role in the growth of Hensel-Phelps Construction company which built the Union Colony Civic Center.

He was chair of the Greeley Downtown Development Authority from 1998-2015, helping to foster the astonishing growth of downtown, including many art and music venues. Tointon spent decades investing his time and resources into the infrastructure, education, and economic vitality of Northern Colorado.
