Meet the 2026 Inductees
Phyllis Eaton
Phyllis Eaton is a legendary local musician, accomplished pianist, and monumental pillar of the arts community in Greeley, Colorado. She is widely celebrated for her 40-year tenure as the principal pianist for the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra.
Beyond playing, she shaped the orchestra's operations by serving as the president of the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra Board of Directors four separate times.
Eaton served as the president of the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra Guild (the organization’s primary fundraising arm), sponsored the Greeley Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and taught piano locally for decades.
She chaired the grand opening committee for the Union Colony Civic Center and personally helped select the two iconic Steinway grand pianos that reside there today.
George Fisk
George Fisk (1838–1926) was a pioneering Greeley resident, Civic War veteran, and world-renowned luthier (violin maker) known as the “Stradivarius of the West”.
He first moved to the Union Colony in 1870 and permanently established a violin and furniture shop there in 1876. Fisk worked completely alone and crafted every instrument by hand. He frequently used wood from discarded furniture found on the streets of Greeley, taking about a month to build a single violin and leaving it to mellow for a year. In total, he crafted 163 violins and 2 violas.
Though his earliest designs were called "abominably hideous" by world-famous Hungarian violinist Edouard Reményi, the two became close friends. Under Reményi's advice, Fisk refined his templates using the lines of a classical Stradivarius. Reményi eventually proclaimed Fisk to be "the best violin maker in not only the United States but also the world." His highly sought-after instruments were praised by musical legends, philosophers, and politicians of the era, including Franz Liszt, Franz Schubert, and Colorado Governor Benjamin Eaton.

The gallery showcases a vast variety of mediums from local and regional Northern Colorado artists, including paintings, pottery, jewelry, sculptures, woodcrafts, fiber art, and photography.
They frequently participate in local arts culture, notably hosting First Friday Art Parties and opening receptions with live demonstrations, snacks, and seasonal exhibitions
