Lynn Bassett

Lynn Bassett (born Lynn Variano) is a prominent American dance educator, choreographer, and entrepreneur based in Greeley, Colorado. She is best known as the founder and owner of Dance Factory, a premier dance studio she established in 1973 at just 18 years old. She founded the studio as "The Dance is Now" and it later became "Lin Bassett's Dance Factory" before she intentionally dropped her name from the main title to emphasize the shared success of her faculty.

Trained extensively from New York to Los Angeles, her personal expertise spans tap, jazz, lyrical, and ballet. Her work has been a centerpiece for the Greeley Stampede Troupe’s musical theater productions, including Beauty & The Beast, A Christmas Carol, and The Music Man. Over more than five decades, Bassett has transformed a small neighborhood class taught in her parents' basement into a massive regional staple that trains thousands of dancers. Graduates of her studio have gone on to dance professionally in major entertainment hubs like New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, as well as for Disney, cruise lines, and pro sports teams like the Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets.
